美国爵士乐新锐王炸团体
New Jazz Underground 是2023年 DCJazzPrix™ 冠军，并因其原创⾳乐⽽受到NPR Music的关注。New Jazz Underground由三位活跃于当代爵士领域的青年音乐家组成：萨克斯管演奏家、作曲家Abdias Armenteros、贝斯演奏家、作曲家Sebastian Rios和鼓演奏家TJ Reddick，三位都被誉为爵⼠乐界最有前途的年轻艺术家。
他们的⾳乐标志着爵⼠乐中的传统情感，如蓝调、摇摆乐和即兴创作与嘻哈、流⾏和⾮裔拉丁裔⾳乐的现代影响的融合。三⼈在对爵⼠乐偶像的崇敬中仍然争取建⽴超越流派界限的新声⾳。

In 2023, New Jazz Underground won the DCJazzPrixTM competition and received praise for their original songs from NPR Music. The trio is made up of three up-and-coming jazz musicians: drummer TJ Reddick, bassist/composer Sebastian Rios, and saxophonist/composer Abdias Armenteros. They are widely regarded as some of the most promising young musicians in jazz today.
Their music combines contemporary elements from pop, hip-hop, and Afro-Latin sounds with jazz traditions, such as improvisation, swing, and blues. They aim to push boundaries and produce a new, genre-defying sound while honoring jazz greats.
NJU has accumulated more than 99.5K subscribers to its YouTube channel since its start in 2020. With years of practical experience, they teach jazz history, theory, and performance to younger pupils in private classes, demonstrating their passion for jazz education.

The NJU Jazz Trio, which was founded by three up-and-coming jazz luminaries, is renowned for its innovative arrangements and skillful improvisation as well as its strong dedication to jazz education. Each member contributes years of teaching experience and indepENDent studio expertise to the dynamic ensemble, which strikes a balance between pedagogical passion and stage presence. The group offers systematic insights into jazz history, theory, and creative practice that are suited to students of all skill levels, from novices to seasoned musicians.
By deviating from traditional performance conventions, this concert will demystify jazz for audiences, particularly young students who are eager to learn more about the genre, through interactive song breakdowns and live improvisation demos. Their trio's incredible chemistry will allow NJU to present jazz as a dynamic art form with countless applications.

⻉斯演奏家/作曲家，27岁
Rios 高中时期因才华出众获得美国青年艺术奖及茱莉亚音乐学院奖学金，师从爵士大师温顿·马萨利斯，并长期受教于传奇贝斯手罗恩·卡特。
后与同学TJ Reddick、Abdias Armenteros共同创立爵士乐团New Jazz Underground。其创作的三重奏作品荣获2024年ASCAP青年作曲家奖，作品巧妙融合成员个性，展现突破性的音乐张力。
